My Brother's Graduation

A picture of me with Mr. Gieske behind me
So my younger brother graduated from high school this week. I had to go to the ceremony, even though it is one of the most boring things in the world; I wanted to sleep through my own graduation. I don't even think I want to go to the ceremony when I graduate from UWEC, unless they get a good speaker.

I saw many people I knew, mostly teachers. Little did I realize when I had my picture taken with my family that Mr. Gieske (formerly Br. Kenneth) was standing right behind me. So I thought I'd share that, for what it's worth. I also got a haircut as you can see. Some people complain that it is too short and that they liked it when it was longer. I really don't care one way or the other, but I did manage to comb it for the graduation, which is a good first step. You'll really have to pardon the Pat Kreitlow smile I had there in that picture. Pat and I have an ongoing contest to see who can have the most awkward smiles when having our picture taken. The ball is in your court Pat...

Today was my brother's graduation party at our house. It was actually nice to visit with the people that came, even though they were more friends of my parents than friends of my brother.

Went to see Triplets of Bellville after the party, and I liked it very much. I really liked how subtle all of the humor was, and how receptive the audience was to it. I feel really bad for the blind woman that went to see it, there is almost no dialogue in the whole film; I heard her complaining on the way out. Only the French could make a cartoon and have characters that smoke cigarettes.

I rented Igby Goes Down and Ripley's Game. The former was good, the latter was fantastic.

Listen to 'Turn To Stone' by ELO if you get the chance, it is damn catchy.

Tomorrow I'm going car shopping, and I might take someone frock shopping if they ask nicely enough.
