A picture of me with Mr. Gieske behind me
So my younger brother graduated from high school this week. I had to go to the ceremony, even though it is one of the most boring things in the world; I wanted to sleep through my own graduation. I don't even think I want to go to the ceremony when I graduate from UWEC, unless they get a good speaker.

I saw many people I knew, mostly teachers. Little did I realize when I had my picture taken with my family that Mr. Gieske (formerly Br. Kenneth) was standing right behind me. So I thought I'd share that, for what it's worth. I also got a haircut as you can see. Some people complain that it is too short and that they liked it when it was longer. I really don't care one way or the other, but I did manage to comb it for the graduation, which is a good first step. You'll really have to pardon the Pat Kreitlow smile I had there in that picture. Pat and I have an ongoing contest to see who can have the most awkward smiles when having our picture taken. The ball is in your court Pat...

Today was my brother's graduation party at our house. It was actually nice to visit with the people that came, even though they were more friends of my parents than friends of my brother.

Went to see Triplets of Bellville after the party, and I liked it very much. I really liked how subtle all of the humor was, and how receptive the audience was to it. I feel really bad for the blind woman that went to see it, there is almost no dialogue in the whole film; I heard her complaining on the way out. Only the French could make a cartoon and have characters that smoke cigarettes.

I rented Igby Goes Down and Ripley's Game. The former was good, the latter was fantastic.

Listen to 'Turn To Stone' by ELO if you get the chance, it is damn catchy.

Tomorrow I'm going car shopping, and I might take someone frock shopping if they ask nicely enough.

I'm gonna read a book. From beginning to end. In that order.
OK, I just finished my 3rd year of college and I only have one semester left before I graduate with a degree that is more or less useless (PoliSci). I'm living back at home, in my room in the attic, and so far I'm not loving it.

I have no car, not since Brandy died on me (and I treated her so well), so I've been using my parent's car. There was one guy selling a '92 Accord with 116k miles for $1,900 which would have been a great price if it didn't need quite a few things fixed. We paid $75 to have a guy look at it and tell us it wasn't worth buying, just like the $45 I paid to find out Brandy wasn't worth fixing. I think greasemonkies should only be able to charge when there is good news...

I bought Little Children from Costco this week on a whim, I love Tom Perrotta (he wrote Election) and I really like this book so far, but now I don't want to ever grow up, get married and certainly not have children.

I got West Wing season two on DVD, just finished up the last episode an hour ago. I honestly think season two was the best of all of them. Toby and Josh were both likeable, Rizzo wasn't a character they were obligated to put in every episode even though she is always comes off as a snob. And of course, Ainsley Hayes, can't forget her...

I watched the '24' finale, what a waste of time, nobody died, no big twist. Didn't one of Kim's other boyfriend's lose a limb, like last season? I don't care about the show, this was the only episode I saw this season after closely watching the last one. I've also missed out on the Alias episodes this season too.

I've found a blogger that I actually like read, he used to write for Dennis Miller Live and now lives in London with his wife. His blog is called Yankee Fog. Most other blogs are boring, including my own. I used to like Lileks, but he's a tool for Shrub and I find it hard to idolize him now.

I also have this problem of staying up until 3 or 4 AM every night and sleeping until noon, and tonight is no exception.

I'd also like to note that this is my 100th post, at least with Movable Type's count. So there, 100 entries! I'll be giving my speech after the dinner...

That's right, nothing

Woe is Me

So here comes the end of the semester, I have finals this week, my dad comes tomorrow with a truck to move all my crap back to Minneapolis, and I am sick and have no energy to do all of this.

I just spent two hours writing an e-mail, I hope it doesn't get lost and I hope they write back...

I think that I spend far too much time on the internet when there are many more things in the world to do, so maybe I'll just go and do them.

My whole blog is pointless, I don't offer any real insight, just crap, and people visit to be polite, it isn't like they learn anything about me here anyway.

Maybe I'm just in a bad mood...

I had to move some of my stuff back today, with only finals left, and my lease ending on Saturday, I have to get all of my stuff back to Minneapolis, meaning a lot of trips.

I am going to see Super Size Me today with G. Edwin, it looks really interesting and this is the first showing in the Twin Cities, at the Uptown.

I am quite sick, I have a horrible cold, I thought it was allergies but it is just a bad cold.

A photo of President Bush looking like a dumbass, with the caption, 'Does it shock you at all that this man got an average of 72% in his PoliSci classes at Yale?'
Thought I'd make this image, seemed funny enough. If you don't know, Bush wasn't exactly an A student at Yale. [You can view his transcript here]. He even joked about how he was a C student from Yale and went on to become President of the United States, and how Cheney failed out and became Vice President. Does it also shock you when you look at his economics grades (~71.5%)? You have to wonder how valid his space program is when you look at his astronomy grade (69%)! The man got 76% in English! How do you get a C in English? I should praise him for his three classes where he got 88%, way to go Mr. President, you were this close to getting an A-! Both John Kerry and Howard Dean went to Yale as well, and both did well. I'm not saying Bush is a bad President because he's a dumbass. I'm saying he looks and acts like a dumbass because he is one. I hope Kerry leaves Bush in the dust during the debates.

Oh well, back to my paper!

I am very happy that my new CSS layout works. The menu looks like I want it to, but I'll keep changing things, because it makes me happy. This is actually a moblog entry, I love my Axim X3i!

Happy Cinco de Mayo!

Didn't do that much today to celebrate, but it has always been one of my favorite holidays. Sodexho had free chips and salsa with purchase of their overpriced 'Mexican' food today, yeah, real festive.

The new London Road Sammy's opened today, 33 years after the downtown one was opened. Hopefully it will be a wild sucess.

There was a great comic strip in today's strib, one called La Cucaracha, thought I'd share it...

It has been a long time since I've watched Questions for the Prime Minister, but the one from last week was fantastic. I love the way the MPs ask the most biased, soft-ball questions to the PM. For example:

Mr. David Chaytor (Bury, North): In England today, the manager of the national football team is Swedish, the premiership footballer of the year and his manager are French, the royal family is part German and part Greek, and the Leader of Her Majesty's Opposition is allegedly the son of a Transylvanian asylum seeker. Is it not time we started to celebrate our relationships with Europe and tackled head on the infantile Euroscepticism of the Tory party?

I would like to be the first out there to encourage Al Franken to run for US Senate in Minnesota in 2008 and defeat Norm Coleman. Al has hinted in various news interviews that he may run in 2008 (meaning he would have to move back to his home state in the next few years) and I thought I would help kick things off by buying up a few domains, www.frankenforsenate.org and www.frankenforsenate.com. If Al decides to run, I will happily give them those domains, but in the meantime, I will make sure they are safe from Coleman supporters and domain squatters. I interned for the late Senator Wellstone's campaign, and Minnesota needs that seat back in the hands of someone who will represent the interests of Minnesotans (and believe me, that is not Norm Coleman).

Welcome!

With over 455 million members and 25 states, the EU is growing to ensure economic prosperity and peace throughout all of Europe, and the whole world will benefit. So, WELCOME!
